About me

Whether you are being sent abroad for work or are seeking a new adventure for yourself and your family, it is important to take the needs of your loved ones, as well as your own, into account. I moved back to 's-Hertogenbosch with three small children and luckly I knew my way around. Because I know how difficult it can be to settle into a new country when you don't. That's why I want to help expat families with this transit.

On the 13th of March, 1979 I was ready to face the world! In ’s-Hertogenbosch I was born and raised and after living on different continents I now am a happy Den-Bosian again.

Most of my work ethic I inherited from my parents. They are the proud owners of a fashion fabric store, and I joined them regularly on markets to sell their fabrics, at various locations across The Netherlands. As a small sprout I was surrounded by people and colorful materials. I liked to combine the finest fabrics and unique designs and enjoyed sewing them together into fine creations. During the holidays I would work as a help in there business. Through this I developed my social skills, discipline and hard working mentality. As a little girl I was described as stubborn, energetic, creative and smart.

I struggled in elementary school, because reading and writing was very difficult for me. This was very annoying, because no matter how hard I tried, I just could not get a good grade for any of the linguistic courses. Fortunately I was good with people and made friends easily. At the age of eighteen they finally found the roots of my struggle and determined that I am dyslexic. This felt as a recognition that I wasn’t stupid, because that was the feeling I had for years by failing to meet the so-called “standard".

During my final year at high school I change course at the last moment. Where I had always wanted my career to involve fashion design, I choose to go to Groningen and study sports management. After four enjoyable years in Groningen, I graduated university and moved back to my "hometown". Happy and satisfied as I was to work in sport and health rehabilitation sector, I still was not completely satisfied. I changed course once again. As a director of two daycare/after school facilities I started to work with children. It was ar this point that things started to fall into place.

I quickly found out that the children that where struggling interested me the most. I recognized myself in these children. They came to see the remedial teacher, that worked in the office next to me, usually with a lot of reluctance. Same as I did when I was young. It is just awful when your not good at something, and because of this they make you do it even more. I enjoyed talking to these children and tried yo help them with their issues by showing them they were great in many things. This truly made me happy and gave me satisfaction. I decided to go back tor school and in 2011 I finished my master of Special Educational Need. As a Behavior Specialist and manager I gained a lot of knowledge and I achieved great success.
